Indian Ocean Stills

The Indian Ocean range was created to highlight the importance of rums from the Indian Ocean.  Not everyone knows that this area can be considered the cradle of the history of rum.  Sugar cane in fact arrived in Europe from the far east via the Île de la Réunion and Mauritius.

The Chamarel distillery is a small pearl of Mauritius.  Founded in 2008 by the Couacaud family, it is located in the center of a small plantation where an extraordinary sugar cane grows, harvested by hand, naturally fermented and distilled in the different Chamarel stills.

The rum that is part of the Indian Ocean range is Chamarel 2014: produced from pure cane juice, distilled in September 2014 in a copper column and aged 4 years in tropical climate in French oak barrels.  Bottled cask strenght at 58 °.

Savanna is a distillery with a great history, guardian of the old grand Arome style.

Its uniqueness derives from the use of different production styles: from the juice to the molasses, from the still to the savalle column.  The Indian Ocean range is completed by Savanna 2012, an agricultural rum, distilled in November 2012 in Savalle column, aged 6 years in a tropical climate in the volcanic Ile de la Réunion.  Bottled cask strenght at 61 °.
