Sipsmith

Prudence, patience and constancy are the keywords of the Sipsmith distillery, one of the very few located within the confines of London. In 2007, in a small workshop in Hammersmith, in the western sector of the English capital, Fairfax and Sam, friends from an early age, share a passion for things done well, following tradition, the old-fashioned way. They decide to realize their dream, turn their passion into a job and open a traditional distillery with copper stills. The mission is simple: to bring London Dry Gin of unique quality and singular character back to the City, as it was when it earned its name. All that was missing was a Master Distiller, but luck assists the two Cornish entrepreneurs, making them meet Jared, who immediately discovers that he shares their love for craftsmanship, in the blink of an eye he too embarks on this wonderful adventure.

The Sipsmith trio handcraft each of their own creations. Every drop of every batch is lovingly and passionately produced by passionate distillers who love their work. There are no time regimes, no automatic cuts, just the talent of the craftsmen and the passion for a quality gin. The particularity of the products lies primarily in the use of vodka as a base and, of course, in the 'one shot' distillation. The three stills take their name from the distillery's mantra: Prudenza was the first copper still in London in the last 200 years, with a unique design of its kind, because it was created by the oldest family of still producers in Germany. It is so called ironically, because in the period of recession that Europe was entering, during which the British Prime Minister had advised financial prudence to the British people, our protagonists were embarking on a crazy idea, financing it thanks to the sale of their own homes. Not exactly prudent, but far-sighted, even if patience was needed, this is how the second alembic was called, which has carried the company to its current success and in the new, larger headquarters in Chiswick. Having collected the fruits of one's work, Costanza has now arrived, the one necessary for continuity.

The gins of the Sipsmith distillery are distinguished by floral scents, almost green of cut grass, with a fresh citrus twist, lemons and orange peel, with the dry finish that distinguishes the London dry, but which in the Sloe version are combined with the almond notes of marzipan, sweetened by berries. The true essence of the English spirit, in its tradition that has its roots in hundreds of years of history. To try and try again, dressed in its British elegance alongside the ironic spirit that characterizes this nation.
