TThe adventure of Gianfranco Fino begins in 2004, with the search for the perfect vineyard that absolutely had to have particular and unique characteristics. The research finds its end almost immediately, with the purchase of a tiny vineyard of Primitivo of fifty years of about 2 hectares, then enlarged with the cultivation of other leased land. Already this brief history would be enough to bring Gianfranco Fino back into the ranks of those winemakers tied to tradition, eager to save old vineyards and keep their specificities alive.
His careful work and his great wines say more than a thousand words: his Primitivo di Manduria is placed on an innovative vein that, while maintaining a traditional side traceable in the assembly of grapes from different vineyards, established practice in these parts, reveals a truly amazing power and body.
The most exceptional part of Gianfranco Fino's wines is the exemplary balance between structure, alcoholic vein, acidity and flavor that make them remarkable and of great depth: in two words, great wines.
Today the vineyards of Gianfranco Fino, located in the countryside of Manduria and Sava, are small fragmented plots, with red earth and rocky outcrops. The crops are generally made up of very old trees, flanked by the recent planting of an experimental vineyard. The Primitivo Es certainly represents an excellence not only of its production, but also of the Pugliese panorama: a wine that has certainly filled the regional production void of the past decades.
