The history of Bielle 2007 Fut 217 Transatlantic 70 ° Velier begins in February 2017 during Luca Gargano's visit to Marie Galante together with Gianni Vittorio Capovilla and Jerome Thierry, where the three tasted different barrels at the Bielle distillery.
Luca chose between these two twin barrels, 217 and 218, both distilled in 2007. While single cask 218 was bottled in Marie Galante, cask 217 was transported to the beach by a pulled charrette by oxen and was taken to swim on the Tres Hombres sailing ship anchored off St. Louis. The ship, with a long transoceanic voyage, then transported it to Europe.
