Meursault Blagny Premier Cru La Piéce sous le Bois 2018
The subtle nature of the soils in which the grapes of this Meursault Blagny 1er cru grow. The piece sous le bois has a predominantly dark, reddish limestone marl and a good gravelly portion. It is a poor land, perfect for the cultivation of vines, forced to draw its subsistence very deeply here. The parcel exposure is south-east. Significant vinification details: the grapes arrive en cave after adequate manual harvesting and careful selection; very soft pressing follows; light battonage only before the natural start of the malolactic fermentation; elevage in new pieces at 20 percent for 11 months; light pre-bottling filtration.
Rich, floral nose with hints of apple and exotic fruit. Full on the palate, with a long finish.
