Sassella 2018
Sassella by Aldo Rainoldi is a red wine produced with Nebbiolo grapes in the municipality of Chiuro in the province of Sondrio.
The Sassella grapes are harvested during the second ten days of October. Following a careful selection of the bunches and a soft crushing-destemming, fermentation takes place with maceration at a controlled temperature. The wine undergoes a long aging in new French oak barriques and then in the bottle.
Sassella by Aldo Rainoldi is an intense ruby red. The nose is dominated by aromas of cherries, walnuts and plums in alcohol. On the palate the tannin is soft with an excellent balance between freshness and minerality, the finish is spicy and fruity.
