The château Coutet is located in the Barsac appellation, in the Sauternes region. In 1787, Thomas Jefferson, the future president of the United States, considered château Coutet to be Barsac's best Sauternes. The word "Coutet" comes from the Gascon word for "knife". This word perfectly sums up the unique style of the estate's wines, which are sharp, lively and fresh.
A Sauternes which undergoes 18 months refinement in French oak barrels and which presents a bouquet characterized by notes of ginger, pear and exotic fruit. For this château Coutet 2019, the palate is particularly fresh, a sign of a decidedly modern Coutet.
