Larmandier - Bernier Les Chemins d'Avize 2014
Coming from the two vignes vieilles vineyards in the heart of Avize and the latest in special Champagnes, Les Chemins d'Avize has arrived to complete the Champagne range. Pierre and Sophie have long known that the Avize terroir deserved a singular cuvée.
It is in fact from this soil - very poor, with outcropping chalk - that the 50-year-old vines derive delicate floral characteristics and a unique mineral density.
The natural alcoholic fermentation (indigenous yeasts) and the malolactic fermentation begins spontaneously in the Stockinger barrels and vats. The wines mature on the lees during the first year, without any filtration or refinement.
